Wood Canyon Coffee

Privacy policy

Effective September 14, 2026

The short version

We collect what it takes to deliver coffee to your porch and charge you for it: your name, contact details, address, delivery instructions, and your order history. Your card is stored by Stripe, never by us.

We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. The owner sees it; later, a driver will see only the stops on their own route. Email hello@woodcanyoncoffee.com at any time to get a copy of your data or have it deleted.

Who we are

Wood Canyon Coffee is a neighborhood coffee delivery service run by its owner from 23986 Aliso Creek Rd Ste A12, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use woodcanyoncoffee.com, subscribe, or message us, and what we do with it. Questions go to hello@woodcanyoncoffee.com.

What we collect

Only what the service needs. Specifically:

  • Contact details: your name, email address, and mobile number, for each person on the household account.
  • Delivery address and instructions: your street address and whatever you tell us about where to leave the bag, including gate codes, door codes, and notes like “cooler by the garage.”
  • Delivery confirmations: the time each stop was completed and, usually, a photo of the bag where it was left. The photo is taken from the porch and exists to settle any “it never arrived” question quickly and in your favor.
  • Order and account history: your plan, grind, skips, pauses, add-ons, deliveries, charges, credits, referral code, and any issue you report.
  • Messages: emails and texts you send us, and the ones we send you.
  • Payment card details are stored by Stripe, not by us. We keep only the card brand, last four digits, and expiration date so you can recognize it in your account.
  • Sign-in details: we sign you in with a link emailed to you, so there is no password. If you choose Google sign-in, Google sends us your name, email address, and profile picture.
  • Basic site usage: our host, Vercel, gives us page-view counts that do not use cookies and do not identify you.

How we use it

  • To roast the right number of bags, route the deliveries, and leave your coffee where you asked.
  • To charge your card on delivery day for the bags actually delivered, and to send receipts.
  • To tell you what is going on: delivery notices with the roast date, schedule changes, cutoff reminders, failed-payment alerts, and replies to your requests. These go by email, and by text only if you opt in.
  • To fix problems, honor the freshness promise and replacement policy, and track referral credits.
  • To keep the business records the tax authorities require.

We do not use your information for advertising, we do not build profiles, and we do not send marketing texts. The occasional email about the service itself (a new roast, a schedule change for a holiday) is part of being a subscriber, and you can opt out of anything that is not essential to your deliveries.

Who can see it

  • The owner, who runs the deliveries and answers your messages.
  • Drivers, later: when the route is big enough to hand to a driver, that driver will see only the stops on their own route for that day: name, address, instructions, gate code, and what to deliver. Never your payment details, history, or anything about other customers.
  • Service providers we rely on, each of which only gets what it needs to do its job: Stripe (card storage and charges), Mailjet (email), Twilio (text messages), Google Maps (checking addresses), Neon (our database), and Vercel (hosting, and storage of delivery photos). Google, if you sign in with Google.
  • Nobody else, unless the law requires it or you ask us to (for example, to sort out a payment dispute with your bank).

We do not sell personal information, and we have not in the past twelve months. We do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. Mobile numbers and text-message consent are never shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

How long we keep it

  • Your account and delivery details: while you are a customer, and while your subscription is paused.
  • Charges, credits, receipts, and delivery records: seven years, because tax and accounting rules require it.
  • Delivery photos: about 90 days, long enough to resolve any question about a delivery.
  • After you cancel: we keep your contact details and history so you can come back (and so referral credits stay correct) unless you ask us to delete them.

When you ask us to delete your account, we remove your name, contact details, address, instructions, and photos, and keep only the financial records the law requires, with your name replaced by an account number.

Your California privacy rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act gives you the right to know what personal information we have about you, to get a copy of it, to correct it, to have it deleted, and to not be treated differently for exercising those rights. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@woodcanyoncoffee.com from the address on your account, or write to us at 23986 Aliso Creek Rd Ste A12, Laguna Niguel, CA 92677. We confirm it is you by replying to the email on file, and we answer within 45 days. You can also update your own name, contacts, address, and instructions any time in your account.

Text messages

Texts are optional. If you opt in, we send delivery notices and service messages to the mobile number you give us; reply STOP to any message to opt out. Details are in our text message terms.

Cookies

We use one cookie, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Stripe sets its own cookies on the page where you add a card, to prevent fraud.

Children

The service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18; if you think we have, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a way that matters, we email every customer before the change takes effect. The date at the top tells you when it was last updated.
